THREE HARES PLANNING APPEAL REFUSED!
Great news - we still have a pub (at least technically!). The government's Planning Inspectorate has dismissed the Wellington Pub Company's appeal for changing the site's use from pub to residential accommodation. Ultimately, they failed to demonstrate that the site is inviable as a (pub) business under their leasehold terms.
What the Pub Company do next is entirely up to them, but for all the friends of the Three Hares - and especially those who took the time to object and comment on the application - this is the best outcome we could have hoped for. Of course it's far from the end of the story, but it's heartening to know that the pub survives another day.
You can read the Planning Inspectorate's decision in full here.

PARISH COUNCIL UPDATES
Join the PC!
With two members of the Parish Council recently stepping down, we are now seeking new representatives to ensure that the best interests of our community continue to be served. We liaise with the County Council and other local services on matters ranging from planning and traffic to the upkeep of the playing field and the staging of community events. While much of this work is behind-the-scenes, it is absolutely crucial for the well-being and integrity of our village and the surrounding area. Essentially, our aim is to keep Bilbrough beautiful!
If you are interested in joining the PC, please email us at clerkbilbroughcouncil@gmail.com or simply come along to any PC meeting.
